Halloween 2: Return of the Turkey

First we went to the Old Baker's Farm Pumpkin Patch

Here, our little monkey appears to be leaving a little gift in the flowers.

When we got out to the pumpkin patch, Brantley went and sat on this pumpkin and began giggling incessantly. I tried doing the same, but no one picked up my pumpkin for me.

I knew vampires slept upside down.
Our little Turkey got the hang of knocking on doors and asking for candy, or "Na-Na" as he for some reason likes to call it. We also learned that giving a Turkey chocholate, causes you to hear the word "Na-Na" 453 times over the next 2 days.
The Spooky Halloween Turkey lurks quietly through your neigborhood waiting to strike you with his plush beak at an unsuspecting moment. Remember, Turkeys can't smell fear, as they have no nostrils, but they can taste it...and it taste like corn pellets.

Don't call it a comeback

We have fallen down on our blogging duties. Here are a few pictures of "events" over the last month.

We kept the Booth Bunch recently. We learned the meaning of zone defense (Nickel package).

Above: We had a movie night in the Park. We tried to watch Wall-E, but Brantley wanted to investigate other patrons' plastic cups.

Below: Maximal bathtime efficiency. Turner bath policy: Bows remain on at all times.

Mother monologue:

My sweet little candy corn. He is such a sweet child, and I can't believe he is getting so big. Brantley is now 19 months and is learning new words everyday. He has lots of words that we do not understand. He will look at us, say three "words" and wait for a response - such fun. I can tell him to go get something or go put things up, and he knows where it goes. I love being a mommy, and I am so thankful God let me have Brantley (even if it is on loan).

Kid's Gym

We signed Brantley up for Kid's Gym this fall. He loves going and is having a ball.
Here is our Lil' Drummer Boy pounding on the carpet. I think he's got potential

Fact: The drummer from Def Lepard only has one arm (also a lyric; bonus points if you can name the group)

Not a Stairway to Heaven, but at least to a sweet ball pit.

Mo and Brantley at Surin lovin' each other's company. This session of dueling giggles was so much fun to watch.

Mo's 3rd birthday party
Ride 'em Cowboy (under close supervision, of course)

"I bet I could stay on that bull for 8 seconds. I'm gonna tame that steer...after my sippy cup and goldfish crackers, mind you."

Zoo trip

Brantley: " I say, goat, you seem to be as vertically endowed as me."
Goat: "Those are nice pants...d'your Mom make those for you? You do realize that as soon as you attempt to pet me and/or turn around, I will be attempting to consume this homemade fabric which is elastically attached to your lower torso?
Brantley: "Sha-Shaa. Bye-Bye"

On the zoo train with Daddy.

Let me just tell you, those ain't raisins. How they got around his diaper, I'll never know.

Mommy and the baby. Of course, Ginger got in trouble for posing and taking unauthorized photos with the Red Diamond Express. Oh yeah, she throws caution to the wind.

I love these pictures of the dads. The Finleys and Comptons join us for some pizza and pooling. After swimming the guys hung out with the kids in the swings. What a great excuse for grown men to swing again.

We hope that you've enjoyed this semi-annual update of the Turners. Thanks for viewing and see you again in April.
Love,
Ryan, Ginger, and the Brant.

July happenings

Happy 49th Birthday Mama Jean, again! We celebrated MJ's birthday in Auburn last month.

Brantley and his cousin, Athena, are just-a-swangin'. Athena is 2 weeks younger than Brantley. Athena is modeling the latest in toddler fashion - big ol' orange swimmies (helping kids float and prevenent elbow abrasions).

Grandma and Big Dad came up to see Brantley 2 weeks ago. Brantley officially has way more hair than Big Dad (even after his haircut!!)
This weekend Ginger's family came up and we went to dine at Dreamland Ribs. Note: The King got in on the shot. I told you he's alive. The first of many ribs...and he was much neater than his Daddy.
Then we learned that Brantley's new favorite food a corn-on-the-cob dipped in vanilla pudding. His nearly gnawed through an entire cob like this.

First Hair Cut

Who knew the first haircut was so traumatic...for mama. Ryan has been on me to cut his hair So, on Saturday Ryan and I loaded up and headed to Mr Clay’s. Brantley was a trooper and did great for the first two minutes. Then I had to hold him for the remaining of the cut. Mr. Clay tried and tried to get him to eat a sucker, but no go. I recognize that when Brantley is 14, I'll be begging him to get his hair cut, but I just wasn't ready for my sweet little baby to look like a little boy.

Before

This is the best "big boy" picture we could get.

Porter shared in on the fun and got his hair cut too.

Thanks Katie for dinner Saturday night it was such a treat for the Turners!

Third Anniversary

It is hard to believe that it has been 3 years of marriage already. It has certainly been the greatest 3 years of my life and provided me so much needed growth.

Ginger has been an incredible wife, mother, and friend. I am incredibly lucky to have found her and that she said "Yes" to me. Well, actually, she said, "Thank you," but you get the picture.

It is still hard to believe that I knew this incredible person basically throughout my entire life, but it took this long to finally find her. As evident by a 6th grade dance photo...of note, I was not her date then. Our life has come so far from then, for which I thank God each and every day to have her as a blessing in my life.

And she makes one cute baby, too!!!

Happy Anniversary and I love you, Ginger.

Beach

**Sorry, we have been bad bloggers. These are pics from our vacation that occurred in late May** Please forgive the poor blog etiquette. We are from Valley, remember.

Ladies, don't fear. I am seeing over these sands and no one is getting hurt on my watch. Eat your heart out Hassellhoff!

So while Brantley patrolled the shores, he wanted nothing to do with the water.

Brantley found that the Splash Pad was much more fun and less hassle than going to the ocean. Sand is over-rated.

However, a faceblast is always a downer (except for those watching it).

The Ham cutting a rug at the Red Bar. This little thang had all the young women eatin' out of his hand. They couldn't get enough of this monkey.

The obligatory family beach photo. Dang, we forgot the white shirts and tan shorts .

This is us in front of my favorite Oyster Bar - Hunt's. It is a bonafide dump, but has awesome oysters. I went out to get Ginger her coat, and when I came back my family was outside and the baby crying. Turns out the Boy Wonder decided to "vomik" all over the place. Rernt milk vomit in an oyster bar ain't a great combo.

Pretty Mommy and baby at a free outside concert.

Stay tuned for "First Haircut" coming later this week

Random pics (and thoughts) over last month

Briarwood had a church picnic so Branltey and I decided to swoosh down the massive air slide. Although it appears that I am easily frightened or have a low threshold for gravitationally-induced aerated steep declines, I am actually yelping a hot plastic causes much friction on bare skin. Brantley is, however, quite unimpressed.

Our neighborhood recently had a Crawfish Boil with live music. Our little man really dug the band.
Brantley's favorite trick during meal consumption is to squeeze his fists and grimace with a valsalva maneuver (you'll have to look that one up, Ashley). It is super cute, but I hope he doesn't burst a blood vessel in the process.
A lovely picture with baby and DaDa that was also shared by PokieDots, who is a Hot Mess for Hire and specializes in animal-balloogenesis. This blue creation being waved by Pokie is a balloon platypus.
