Heeere's Chuck E

We went to Chuck E. Cheese on saturday and had the best time. Ryan is so proud of himself - he tied for the highest score on the basketball shoot. I, on the other hand, did not do so well. This reminded me of High School I never was very good at free trows.
One thing that absolutely befuddled me was that Brantley loved Chuck E. When this big rat mascot came near, Brantley attempted to play with his nose and giggled. I thought for sure after the most recent Santa Claus meltdown, he would completely lose it. He proved us very wrong. We couldn't get the camera out fast enough for this encounter, but it was something.
Mmmmm, I love plexiglass bacterium

Brantley's look of confusion is rooted in the realization that this mechanical contraption has no steering wheel on which to pretend one is driving. Very poor engineering

Chuck E is my co-pilot

Brantley appears to be falling asleep at the wheel. Brantley was a bit too little for many of the games, so we spent much of the time going down the slide and playhouse. He loved the slide and really enjoyed everything we put him on. When we picked him up to go to another spot, he would get very upset. We will have our hands full in the future when he is independently mobile.

Brantley's Birthday Day

Brantley had a very busy birthday. Brantley woke to his daddy getting him up and making breakfast for him. Then the two little men played with some of Brantley's new toys. Then we all meet up for lunch together. Brantley was a ham. These two ladies sat beside us at the restaurant, and Brantley was doing everything he could to make them look at him. He absolutely tore up a cupcake. This was the first time I had ever see the boy so excited about eating something. He loved it! We then went to his one year check up ( I know, shots on his birthday!?!) We had to go when Ryan could be there with us, though. We then went to buy Brantley his Big Boy car seat. We ended the day with dinner together and some Nanny cake. It was a special day for us to spend together.

Now that is a honey-glazed HAM!!

Sir, you are invading my private space bubble.

Oooooooh, fire...........and ............sugar...............mmmmmmmm

Enough with this picking at the icing. Cupcake, get in my belly!

VICTORY!!!!
Thanks Nanny for the late night chocolate sugar rush. It was delicious.

Here are some more Pictures of Brantley's Birthday Party. Thanks to all who were able to come, it was a very special day for our little man.

It's hard to believe that one year ago today, your Daddy and I were waiting on you to come into our lives. It had been a very busy weekend-in with two baby showers, and we did not get back home until late Sunday night. Then around 2:00am my water broke and you were on your way. Your daddy was a little nervous, and I was so thankful we made it home. You took a little while to get here but finally at 3:43 p.m you made your way into my arms. How I had longed to hold you. As I look back over the year I am overwhelmed . I am overwhelmed by God’s love for us. Our Father in Heaven is so good and gracious in all the ways he has provided for us. God provided a healthy child that we prayed daily for. We have been surrounded by a wonderful family and friends to walk along side us in this new adventure! He has financially given to our needs, and throughout this year brought growth to our marriage.
Brantley, we are so thankful for you and what is in store for you. As I look back over the year, I can only think about holding you in the dark of the night singing and praying for you sweet heart. When I think about how much I love you, it bring the picture of Our Father’s love into focus for me. I pray that you will know this love and never wonder from Him. The song Hallelujah sings “ my soul wells up with Hallelujahs.” This is how I feel when I think about how grateful I am that you were entrusted to your father and I.

Here are a few Pictures of Brantley's Birthday party. More to come.

This has been and incredible year, and God has blessed us in so many ways with Brantley. We are so grateful to all those who aided us and love him along the way. Happy First Year!!
